Winter vacation.

This week schools in the Netherlands have the so called “Krokus vakantie”. This vacation falls always before or together with the Carnival period in the Netherlands. Carnival is celebrated abundantly in the South of Netherlands( As the encyclopedia teaches us it was originally a pagan feast incorporated by the Catholics and is 3 days before the Catholic “Ash Wednesday” Anyway as a reborn Pentecostal Christian this has no meaning to me other than it is now one week vacation. We as parents use this time to regroup our strength until the next short vacation in May. As parents we are also involved in the day to day activities of our Children, even though they are older we are still involved. We do not have to take them anymore to school but we do check daily if they are leaving the house on time, if they are taking sufficient nourishment, if they are properly clothed for the time of the year anyway we keep our self busy uncalled for. For our kids it is a time out from school. It enables them to do something other than school chores. Monday for example our daughter of 17 started painting for the first day in her own atelier. She studies graphic design and is also a very talented young painter ( Of course I am a very proud mother. Our daughter of 18 likes acting, this is one of her works ( youngest daughter likes both painting, acting and singing, My prayer to God is daily : Thank you God for our kids, protect and keep them safe from harm. Thank you God for your plan for their lives and your daily guidance in JESUS NAME !

About lucinda408

An experienced Information and communication professional and mother of 3 girls. I am a Christian who believes in God being the Holy Trinity. God the father, son and the Holy ghost! I got ill in 2009 with a disease called PLS . The process you go through when diagnosed with a medically incurable disease is not to be taken lightly and shared as much as you can for that reason I started writing. A wonderful result is that because I am writing about my feelings and experiences it is an emotional therapy for me!
