Promises of God #31

Whenever I am afraid Psalm 23 brings me to a safe place! Whenever I reach to verse 4 I am overwhelmed by Gods love! I realize that he is always with me and will never leave or forsake me! As a child of 10 I got my first bible of my grandmother (the mother of my mom) and she pointed out psalm 23 to me and it always stayed with me.

Psalm 23:4English Standard Version (ESV)

Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death,[a]
    I will fear no evil,
for you are with me;
    your rod and your staff,
    they comfort me.

  1. 10 kids! My sister-in-law has 9; as an only child, I always wished for that. What a blessing… And psalm 23 is so much more than the “funeral” verse. Thanks for another wonderful promise!

      🙂 Your sister in law has 9 kids. I think 9 kids are a lot to handle. My grandma had 8 kids, 2 boys and 6 girls! Which is also a lot. I was 10 when my grandma gave me my first bible! I will always be grateful for that!

  3. When me and my wife were going through hardship, darkness, heartaches, pain and fear, it was God’s love, generosity and mercy that helped us through. Psalm 23:4 is God’s promise that has revealed itself to us so many times and because of it surivive the worst. God is truly good…all the time! God bless you and your family.

  4. Love the 23rd Psalm. If I cannot sleep at
    night, sometimes I will recite it in my head. Though my reciting is definitely not word perfect, it really helps! 🙂
