Turn the other cheek

Matthew 5:38-40

[ Eye for Eye ] “You have heard that it was said, ‘Eye for eye, and tooth for tooth.’ But I tell you, do not resist an evil person. If anyone slaps you on the right cheek, turn to them the other cheek also. And if anyone wants to sue you and take your shirt, hand over your coat as well.

To me this scripture is always the ultimate way of showing a brave and grand heart. Not only in words but also in your ability to forgive.

Today I also realized that it shows your ability to continue even when your hurting and trusting again!

A wonderful result is that because I am writing about my feelings and experiences it is an emotional therapy for me!

Forgiveness is a topic that has been a lot on my mind lately. I always thought that I was fine, I’d forgiven and I was good. But I was reading something lately that reminded me we need to go beyond the act of forgiving and show open love for the one who hurt us, even when we don’t feel that love yet. This verse is another great reminder of that. The action of forgiveness is just as important a part as the heart attitude. Thank you for sharing. ❤️
